This week was my demise! I was knocked down with the sickness! I say it is 95% my fault (temps dropped and I was not dressed weather appropriate because it felt so good!) and 5% my kid's fault (because she's been sleeping with me and was sick a couple weeks ago and it finally got me). REMINDER OF WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO Monday: 4x400m + 2x200m
Tuesday: 30 min Threshold + lower body strength
Wednesday: Full body strength + core workout
Thursday: 4x400m Tempo + upper body strength
Friday: Core workout + Cross training
Saturday: 4 mile long run
Sunday: Rest
WEEK 2 TRAINING RECAP SUMMARY
TOTAL MILES: 1.58
TOTAL TIME: 53m 06s
Day 1 - Rest Day A rest day as in no run but my husband and I spent a couple hours outside clearing up the patio under our deck by our basement door. You couldn't see the majority of the concrete and now our trash cans are easy to get to, the lawn mower and 4 wheeler are parked and covered, things were moved to the basement or shed and we tossed a bunch of trash! Definitely something we've been talking about doing forever!
Day 2 - 4x400m + 2x200m

Last week was the 4x400m repeats. To remind you, it was run 400 meters hard and then rest for equal amount of run time and get heart rate below 135. I did that for the 400m repeats and then after my last recover I did the 200m repeats. Those were done at a sprint with 3-4 times the amount of rest between. Once I completed my final 200m I walked back to my bag and was in time for some younger kids to start soccer practice (I went to a track...I didn't mention that). I stretched and changed my shoes and went home!
Day 3 - 7 - Rest
The sickies started creeping in with a sore throat and then all my energy was gone and then I was just down! I did reach out to some running coaches and asked for advise about my zones for low heart rate training and how to fuel on long runs given that I walked my long run to keep my heart rate down last week. I was sent a new calculator that takes into account resting heart rate and the zones have been adjusted and I think I'll be able to run my next long run!
WHAT'S ON DECK FOR NEXT WEEK:
Will this cold continue to plague me? Probably but hopefully not.
