Night Sweats: A Novel by Beau Savage, eBook, 282 pages
Synopsis from GoodReads: A remote lake house. A wolf in sheep’s clothing. A terrifying fight for survival. Three years after losing her teenage daughter, with her marriage on the brink of unraveling, Barbara needs a break—time away, time alone, time to process. The lake house is perfect. It’s quiet, remote, picturesque, and best of all, she has the whole place to herself. Or so she thinks…
Barbara’s weekend getaway takes a terrifying detour when a young woman emerges from the woods, screaming for help. She’s been abducted. Her deranged captor is in close pursuit. Barbara will need all her courage and cunning if they’re both to survive the nightmare headed their way. But can she muster the strength to fight a natural-born killer?
BOOK REVIEW: I have never and will never write spoilers in my reviews but this one is so hard not to! The twists and turns that this book takes is so hard not to talk about without giving so much away! My heart was racing and almost pounding out of my chest while I was reading the last 50% and I couldn't sit still reading the last 25%. The writing is so vivid! The author really puts you into the story! This was sucker punch after sucker punch and I loved every moment that I read it.
For it being almost 300 pages, I was able to finish it in 4 sessions and that's saying something because I'm a very slow reader and wasn't staying up late since this was the first week of school for my kid. For this being the author's DEBUT novel, he crushed it! I have to say that TikTok has been my favorite platform to find new authors and Indie authors. I highly recommend that you create an account if you don't have one solely to look for authors. This is how I have been picked for multiple ARC teams and found some of my favorite books!
This is an automatic 5 star read for me. It had mystery, suspense, and checks off the box for thriller and I cannot wait to see what comes from this author next!
